Dr. Christina Goodwin is a licensed clinical psychologist who takes a person-centered approach to helping adult clients feel like the best version of themselves. She brings warmth, relatability, and yes, the occasional well-timed sense of humor to her work, because therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff to be effective. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Problem-Solving Therapy.
Dr. Goodwin works with adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety and excessive worry, depression, insomnia, low self-esteem, procrastination, ADHD symptoms, major life transitions (personal and professional), and the emotional complexity of living alongside chronic medical conditions. She is especially drawn to the moments in life when everything shifts at once – and helping people find their footing again.
In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Goodwin provides two specialized assessment services: comprehensive Adult ADHD Evaluations and Letters for Gender Affirming Medical and Surgical Treatment. She is a committed gender-affirming provider and has worked with many adults who identify as transgender or non-binary, conducting assessments in accordance with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.
Dr. Goodwin’s clinical background is unusually broad. She has practiced across academic medical centers, Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospitals, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics, weight management programs, primary care, hematology-oncology, and outpatient psychology settings. This depth of experience means she understands that mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum – it lives alongside the rest of your life and health.
Her academic training is top-tier: she completed her Ph.D. in Psychology with a Health Psychology specialization at The Ohio State University, followed by her predoctoral internship and a fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at the VA Boston Health Care System. Beyond her clinical work at the CBT Center, Dr. Goodwin serves as Associate Clinical Professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and as Assistant Training Director for their Psychology Internship Program – meaning she is actively shaping the next generation of psychologists.
Dr. Goodwin sees patients via telehealth only, with availability designed for busy adults: Monday through Thursday evenings and Friday through Sunday mornings. As a PsyPACT member, she is licensed to see patients virtually across New Jersey and 40+ states.
