Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — and this is one of the most legally protected relationships that exists. What you share in therapy stays between you and your clinician. There are a small number of legal exceptions — if there is imminent risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or if a court requires disclosure — but these are rare, and your clinician will always be transparent with you about them. The confidentiality of the therapeutic relationship is something we take seriously and protect fiercely.
Psychologists hold doctoral degrees (PhD or PsyD) and social workers hold master’s degrees (MSW or LCSW). Both are fully licensed clinicians. But honestly? The degree matters less than the training — and at The CBT Center, we have both covered.
Dr. Drapkin and Jamie Schwartz are both Diplomates of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, which represents the highest level of certification in CBT. Jamie also holds a CBT-I certification from the University of Pennsylvania and has served as a supervisor and consultant in the field. Every member of our team — regardless of credential — is trained in evidence-based approaches and held to the same high clinical standard.
The letters after someone’s name matter. What they’ve done with their training matters more. We have it all.
