Relationships are complicated. And when things break down, you need more than tips from a communication workshop.
At The CBT Center, we use a combination of Behavioral Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help couples understand what’s happening between them — and build toward something better. We look at patterns, communication, what each of you values, and what you actually need from each other.
No generic scripts. No one-size-fits-all. We figure it out together.
Available in person in central New Jersey and via telehealth throughout NJ and NY.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and many of our clients do. We’re a full team of specialists, which means you can work with one clinician individually and another for couples or family work — all under one roof, with clinicians who know your context. It’s one of the real advantages of working with a practice rather than a solo provider.
Generally yes — couples therapy works best when both partners are present. That said, we sometimes build in individual sessions as part of the process when it’s clinically helpful. We’ll figure out what makes sense for you.
We are a full-fee, private pay practice — you pay in full at the time of service. But many of our clients use their out-of-network benefits to significantly offset the cost. If you have a PPO plan, out-of-network reimbursement is typically around 70-80% for behavioral health services. We provide a monthly superbill you can submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
Not sure what your benefits look like? Call your insurance company and ask: do I have a deductible, and what percentage of out-of-network behavioral health services are covered?
